Island Vineyard Tour
Start
the day with a relaxing 10km tour of the Auckland
harbour front through Mission bay, Kohimarama &
St Heliers Bay. Take in panoramic views of Rangitoto
& Waiheke Islands' in the Hauraki Gulf from Point
England lookout. On a fine day you can see the Coromandel
Peninsular. Then on to meet the MV Sea Cat (see winery
transport) at Half Moon Bay. The journey to Waiheke
Island aboard this modern & comfortable vessel
takes 45 minutes before arriving at Kennedy Point.
Visit Palm Bay & Onetangi beach. Visit the iconic
Stonyridge Vineyard, established in 1982 by Stephen
White. Enjoy a tasting of their estate varieties and
also their Fallen Angel regional wines. Drop into
Rangihoua Estate Olive Growers. sample their award
winning range of oils, pestos & dips. Enjoy a
reserve tasting at beautiful Mudbrick Vineyard followed
by an open menu one course lunch in their famous restaurant.
Finally try a flight of wines at the stunning "Cable
Bay Vineyard". There may be time for a short
browse of the local shops in Oneroa, or continue to
laze at Cable Bay before catching the 4.30pm or 5.00pm
return ferry.
